Anti-counterfeiting app wins the Smart Logistics in Africa prize

The Digital Logistics Award is one of the most important awards in the logistics start-up scene. This year the award went into its fifth round and saw the largest and most international field of participants. With 49 applications from 17 countries, the most diverse and exciting topics of digitalization and artificial intelligence were addressed. The highlight this year, however, was the additional category "Smart Logistics in Africa", which was sponsored by DIGILOGIC and endowed with 5,000 euros.

A total of 28 companies from 13 countries applied with innovations for the logistics industry in Africa. Their innovations were evaluated by a jury consisting of highly qualified logistics experts.

The special prize “Smart Logistics in Africa” went to Chekkit Technologies a start-up from Lagos, Nigeria, founded in 2018, which has declared war on product counterfeiting, especially in the medical sector.

The start-up presented its app, which is encrypted with blockchain, and it is used to track products from the manufacturers to the customers.

Dare Odumade, Chekkit’s CEO, commented the award “Every recognition encourages us to pursue our vision to make Chekkit's labels the seal of genuity for every great product, ensuring customers know the story of everything they consume, in Africa and beyond!”
