Digital Hub Management

The Digital Hub Management in Dortmund is one of the world’s leading digital ecosystem dedicated to logistics. It is driving digitization – whether in logistics, production and manufacturing, retail or services. The ecosystem consists of several competence centers, lighthouse-projects and initiatives on basic and applied research, education, SME support and various labs and testbeds and supplements this with the areas of smart talents, capital and start-ups. The Digital Hub Dortmund creates a highly exciting environment for companies that want to get involved in applied research, technology development and bring potential new digital products and processes to the market. The hub and its ecosystem thus contributes to the sustainable future development of Europe as an industrial high-tech location.


Digital Hub Management is the project coordinator. It also leads the Knowledge and Technology Mentoring activities defining the technology framework to establish a common knowledge base on logistics value chain and latest digital technologies enabling competitive and sustainable logistics processes

Teknologian tutkimuskeskus VTT Oy

VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland Ltd is a state owned and controlled non-profit limited liability company established by law and operating under the ownership steering of the Finnish Ministry of Employment and the Economy. VTT is an RTO whose activities are focused on three areas: Knowledge intensive products and services, Smart industry and energy systems, and Solutions for natural resources and environment. VTT is impact-driven and takes advantage from its wide multi-technological knowledge base. VTT can combine different technologies, produce information, upgrade technology knowledge, and create business intelligence and value added for its stakeholders.<


VTT leads DIGILOGIC Challenges programme, offers to innovators technology mentoring and facility usage access, while contributing to the Technology Radar.

TEC4I FVG

TEC4I FVG is a 20 years’ old innovation agency and Business Support Organization, whose key activities are: technology transfer; incubation and acceleration of tech startups; business financing for R&D&I; Udine science park management. TEC4I FVG is one of the main key players of the innovation ecosystem in Friuli Venezia Giulia, the only strong innovator region in Italy according to the EU Regional Innovation Scoreboard 2019 - and a mayor innovation player of the cross-border area between Italy, Slovenia, Austria and Croatia. Its mission is to support the creation of innovative businesses through its own incubator and to deliver support programmes to companies, in particular SMEs, to boost their competitiveness thanks to the introduction of product and/or process innovation.


TEC4I FVG leads the Got-to-market focus learning and it’s in charge of the co-design and set up of an upskilling programme for talented youth in the tech and business domains. It also contributes to DIGILOGIC Challenges programme with its expertise in real-based contests for tech ideas and it’s responsible for the project’s sustainability and exploitation plan.

 

ENDEVA

Endeva e.V. is a non-partisan, independent and interdisciplinary association. The purpose of the association is the promotion of sustainable development in low-income countries as well as the promotion of exchange and research on this topic. The purpose of the association is realized through project work, research as well as information and knowledge transfer. To this end, the association cooperates with public and private sector organizations, both in Germany and internationally.


ENDEVA leads DIGILOGIC ecosystem’s mapping and analysis, applying a systems change approach to the stakeholders engagement. ENDEVA goal is to tackle root causes of problems/roadblocks in collaboration between EU-AU innovation ecosystems, in the logistics sector and create long-lasting partnerships between the engaged EU-AU DIHs that lead to concrete, tangible and sustainable impact.

Apodissi

Apodissi specialises in transferring knowledge and technology between Africa, Europe, and the Middle East. We are innovation specialists working to inspire and empower African organisations to exploit and adopt innovative technologies we introduce in the continent, such as cobots, smart remote experts solutions, industrial 3D and additive manufacturing. We foster their customisation and uptake by African innovators, start-ups and industries. Apodissi also fiercely promotes African innovation by partnering with digital innovation hubs, research centres and universities to stimulate and advance digital entrepreneurship, innovation and cross-continental partnerships. We have accumulated a reservoir of experience through 20+ years of experience in Africa and our involvement in several European-African research and innovation projects. We conceptualise, develop and promote international research and innovation projects fostering collaboration between centres of excellence in Europe, Africa and the Middle East. We pilot innovative solutions on the ground and disseminate the results for market uptake. We know how to navigate Africa’s complex and variegated context and industries while utilising research and development insights, expertise and connections in Europe and the Middle East.


Apodissi leads DIGILOGIC outreach and impact, and is in charge of the overall communication and dissemination activities, playing a key role in promoting the DIGILOGIC eLearning platform, Challenges and innovators solutions.

Meltwater Entrepreneurial School of Technology (MEST)

MEST is an Africa-wide Digital Innovation Hub entrepreneur training program, internal seed fund, and network of hubs offering incubation for technology startups in Africa. Founded in Ghana in 2008, MEST provides critical skills training, funding, and support in software development, business, and communications to Africa’s tech entrepreneurs. Hubs are located in Accra, Lagos, Cape Town, and Nairobi. Join us in providing opportunities to the next generation of world-class software entrepreneurs from Africa!


MEST contributes to the ecosystem mapping and opportunity spotting and leads the Inclusive digital & entrepreneurship capacity building programs for unemployed youth and vulnerable groups.

BongoHive Innovations Limited

BH has been Zambia’s first technology and innovation hub. They have been established in 2011 based on the needs of the local technology industry. They are now assisting scalable startups of various backgrounds through skill-enhancement, growth acceleration, network building, and collaborations. They maintain close ties with the Zambian government as well as other local and international government and non-government organisations and corporates. Besides running startup programs BH organises a wide range of seminars on different technology topics. A key hallmark of BH’s support to building the capacity of local technology and entrepreneurship ecosystem is the fostering of a vibrant ‘community of startups and technology enthusiasts’ through which international development agencies and corporates can source innovative solutions.


B-HIVE contributes to Ecosystem mapping and opportunity spotting, analysis and creation of EU-AU logistic sector innovators development framework. It leads the development of DIGILOGIC eLearning platform and contributes to the provision of business development and technical support to innovators through mentoring and coaching.

 

DIGILOGIC intends to build bridges between the islands of innovation scattered across Europe and Africa, leverage, strengthen and connect DIHs in Europe and Africa to build the first Smart Logistics Pan EU-Africa Digital Innovation Hub Network.
