August 4, 2023Zambia’s Duniya Healthcare working to address the challenge of pharmaceutical product distribution in Africa
Numerous retail pharmacies in Africa encounter significant challenges in efficiently managing their extensive inventory of products while also staying abreast of the latest developments in the pharmaceutical industry. However, Duniya Healthcare is committed to addressing this issue by offering a diverse array of readily accessible products to its customers.
Duniya Healthcare aims to provide primary healthcare access to African communities. They work towards ensuring that health facilities and community pharmacies avoid stock shortages.
Duniya Healthcare is introducing an innovative web-based marketplace that links retail pharmacies with a wide range of pharmaceutical products, such as medicines, healthcare products, and medical equipment. They aim to partner with reliable wholesalers, pharmaceutical manufacturers, and distributors to keep costs low and provide high-quality products that meet international standards. This online and mobile application will assist retail pharmacies in urban and rural areas to replenish their drug stores with medicines and healthcare products from different sources.
Duniya Healthcare is committed to offering an extensive selection of high-quality products to meet the diverse needs of its customers. They take pride in their reliable logistics and delivery services, designed to ensure that orders are fulfilled promptly and efficiently. Their user-friendly online platform is a convenient and easy way for customers to browse and place orders at their leisure.
“At Duniya Healthcare, we aim to streamline retail pharmacies' product sourcing and transportation procedure so that every patient can easily access high-quality healthcare. Our mission is to remove all barriers to healthcare and make it more accessible for everyone.” Says Mwanso Chalo, Founder and CEO.
Duniya Healthcare, one of the chosen innovators in the DIGILOGIC Smart Logistics challenge of 2022, launched its pilot approximately two months ago. Since then, it has transported medical products worth over $50,000 and delivered them to more than 50 retail pharmacies in Lusaka.
The startup, Duniya, received business mentoring from DIGILOGIIC project partner BongoHive and technical assistance from DIGILOGIC project partner VTT for their application development. Additionally, DIGILOGIC partners have created opportunities for Duniya to present its solutions to potential investors and collaborators. DIGILOGIC partner Prototipi has also given valuable exposure and endorsement through their communication channels on the DIGILOGIC webpage and social media platforms and sharing pitches on Youtube.
The workshop concluded with each innovator recording their pitch. Watch the innovators' pitches playlist on DIGILOGIC YouTube channel.
