As presented in the African Bank Development “The Diaspora and Economic Development in Africa” Working Paper “the Diaspora maintains links with the original home country, by their financial transfers or their possible return, but also and especially by their participation in scientific, political and business networks. Founder & CEO presso D-Tech 4Good - IABW (Italian Africa Business Week) network
Born in Nigeria and raised in Northern Italy, Ada obtained a BA in Political Sciences, International Relations, and Human Rights at the University of Padova, and an MSc in Development, Cooperation and Innovation in the Global Economy at the University of Turin back in 2017. After her Master’s Degree, she started working in the field of diaspora engagement and policy-making; she is now a project management consultant working with different public and private entities.
Throughout her studies, Ada was upset by the Eurocentric approach that she encountered, with little or no place left for other regional studies, perspectives, or even single authors. She found a few alternatives and then decided to create her own space. In 2015 she founded the association Arising Africans and started deconstructing stereotypes and promoting cultural awareness of black Italy and diasporas in Europe. Since then the association has been promoting counter-narratives on migration and inclusion. Amongst their projects, they realized a short movie titled “Io sono Rosa Parks” that premiered at the Venice Film Festival in 2018 and a series on systemic racism called “Fading”. Arising Africans are also part of the campaign "Dalla Parte Giusta Della Storia (the right side of history) on citizenship rights.
Her latest challenge is exploring the exciting world of Information and Communication Technologies for Social Good. She is promoting a more inclusive approach that includes diaspora and diaspora organizations in the Tech for good paradigm. In 2020 she started D-Tech Podcast and in 2021 it became a
bigger platform, D-Tech 4Good, a multimedia project that supports for-profit, nonprofit organizations (especially diaspora organizations) and youth entrepreneurs through the digital transformation process. She also works with innovative startups tackling global challenges with local innovative solutions from Africa.

Why AFFORD: The extent to which AFFORD goes to highlight African diaspora efforts, stay ahead of the pack and maintain relevance and steer the diaspora agenda attracts him the most.
Why Africa: Africa is home, filled with the most diverse resources and potential that need to be tapped. Africa, however, has to fulfil its potential for the benefit of its people and the world.
